Two Zoobo companions running side by side

Basics

What exactly is Zoobo?

An AI pet travel app driven by your real steps. Your daily walking becomes travel power, which moves a companion with a personality around the world — and it writes, posts and talks back in character.

How do steps turn into travel?

Once a day, your step count settles into that day's travel power, which decides how far your companion gets. Consecutive days build a fuller story for the city.

Is there a daily step target?

No target, no penalty. A low-step day just moves the trip slower. It won't stop and it won't wipe progress.

What if I don't grant step access?

You can browse companions and the town and chat a little, but the trip stalls — steps are the only source of fuel.

How long does one city take?

Trips progress by day and each city has its own suggested length. How fast you actually finish depends on how much you walk.

Companions

Who can I travel with?

Right now: Eddie the meerkat, Mita the squirrel, Udis the chimpanzee and Babu the hedgehog — all free. The town also has Kovar, Ruby and Dora living in it. More are on the way.

Can I change companion later?

Yes. You pick one at the start, and you can switch afterwards without losing trips or footprints.

Are they actually different, or just reskinned?

Genuinely different. Same street, four narrators: Eddie prices everything and complains, Mita turns it into a scene, Udis writes something clumsy and sincere, Babu remembers what it sounded like.

When does the letter arrive?

Once a day, at a fixed time, during a trip. Letters are archived by trip so you can reread a whole journey.

Cities & trips

Where can I travel?

Cities across the globe, with more added regularly — Chengdu, Seoul, Bangkok, Kyoto, Bali, Paris, Rome, Santorini, Edinburgh and counting.

How do I unlock a new continent?

Your first continent is open; others need a travel pass. Once a continent is unlocked, every city inside it is free to enter.

How does travelling as two work?

Pick a city, send an invite, and if they accept you both enter the same trip on the same day. Both your steps move one journey.

Can I do a duo trip without Pro?

Yes — you just can't send the invite yourself. Non-members can be invited once for free.

Can I unlink a friend?

Yes, with a cool-off period so nobody loses a trip to a mis-tap.

Membership

Do I need a subscription?

No. Downloading, choosing a companion, solo trips and the daily letter are free. Pro mainly adds voice chat time and the ability to invite friends.

How do I cancel?

Through the App Store or the WeChat Mini Program, wherever you subscribed. We can't cancel for you. Access continues until the paid period ends.

Do travel passes expire?

They're for unlocking continents and don't lapse just because you haven't used them. Exact rules are in the app.

Privacy & devices

Does it track my location?

No. It reads step counts from your health data — no GPS, no background location tracking.

Do I keep my data on a new phone?

Yes. Progress, unlocked cities, footprints, letters and chats follow your account.

What devices are supported?

iOS and the WeChat Mini Program today; HarmonyOS is coming soon.

The current legal documents (Terms of Service and Privacy Policy) are published in Chinese, which is the governing version — see Terms and Privacy Policy.
